In this thread I’ll present some of the games made by Tidvis (www.tidvis.no) using Nani-Novel as a base. Initially there are two games I’d like to showcase, with a third in the making.
Historical, narrative adventure written by the Norwegian studio: Tidvis. Tidvis specialises in communicating historical concepts and contexts through a discourse of modern technology.
Tidvis has contributed to several museum installations, created large scale digital visualisations, and has branched into historical, educational games used in schools.
Mrs. Sem’s Choice
«Fru Sems Valg», which can be anglicized as “Sem’s choice” is a Visual Novel which explores the role of women, capitalism, and the cut-throat textile industry of the 1820s. Mrs. Sem is newly widowed and must now rise to the challenge running a store and socializing with the upper-middle class of Oslo, then called Christiania.
The game setting is meticulously researched, and the game features historically accurate locations, and a cast of characters both inspired by real people and events—and some historical persons.
Probably one of the few games whose release party saw people dressed in period garb and an opera singer.
The game is available in Norwegian and is currently being translated to English for an international release.
Scandinavian speakers can play the game right now at itch: Fru Sems Valg
