Hire Unity Developers on UpWork

Post by Elringus »

If you're looking to implement a custom feature/gameplay or modify an existing one, consider hiring a Unity developer on upwork.com. Notice, that you don't have to look for developers with Naninovel experience, as it's essentially just a C# framework built upon Unity. Any C#/Unity developer with 2-3 year professional experience in the field will be able to handle the job.

Only on the UpWork site, no one knows what the "naninovel" framework.
The big problem is that none of the very experienced Unity developers will want to just understand naninovel and pay hourly this amount will tend from $500 to infinity.

NaniNovel is cool, very powerful, but developers are almost impossible to find. Compared to RenPy, where there are 100500 forums and in every doghouse, everyone writes in the "Python" language.
It would be really cool if the NaniNovel developer offered small ready-made solutions as examples, I think a lot of people would be a great start to start

But in general, you were shown the right direction where you need to go and not return))

Not sure why you would expect to find anything on upwork with that. Naninovel is an extension for Unity game engine, hence look for Unity developers.

none of the very experienced Unity developers will want to just understand naninovel

You won't need a "very experienced" dev for Naninovel, it's not rocket science.

but developers are almost impossible to find

In indie and mobile gamedev Unity/C# is the most popular stack, so I'd argue with that.

It would be really cool if the NaniNovel developer offered small ready-made solutions as examples

There are plenty of them: https://github.com/Naninovel Should you have any questions or issues, feel free to contact the support: https://naninovel.com/support/#naninovel-support

In many visual novel games, I often encountered this mechanism:

  1. There is a time in the game (1. by hours 1,2,3,...) or (1-morning 2-day 3-evening 4-night)
  2. there is a "main map" in which you can add "locations" over time, and depending on the time, the picture of the map changes (for night or evening or daytime)
  3. When you click on the main map, we get to the "locations" these are conditionally houses in which there are levels (rooms), the player can move between them and, depending on the time, they also change the back picture (for night or evening time of the day or for daytime)

An example of a "main map" where the background changes from time to time (for night or evening time of the day or for daytime)

Example 1 "locations" and transition between them

Example of 2 "locations" and transition between them from the "main map" to the location

This solution will help you move from the main map to locations, and depending on the characters who are at one time or another in the locations, interactions will come.

This solution may be useful to many.
Can you help with the implementation of this add-on?

I looked many times but neither the calendar nor the map looks like what I described.

Don't expect any of the templates to cater for your very specific needs, there are literally hundreds of ways to design a game. With that said, I'm sure you can create your own advanced map by using the tricks found in the Map example project with no coding, but it will require time and familiarity with the Unity UI toolset.
